Google recently announced that more AI features are being added to its Chrome web browser. This new feature, called “Skills”, allows users to save and reuse their preferred AI tips, which can be run on different web pages without having to be entered again.

This function is related to Google’s integration of its Gemini AI into the Chrome browser, while new competitions from OpenAI, Perplexity and The Browner Company are also present in the browser ecosystem. Gemini has allowed users to ask questions about the web page, summarize information or perform various tasks. “Skills” will go further and allow users to create an AI tip that can be used repeatedly by clicking. Google, for example, suggested that if Gemini was often asked to recommend a vegetarian alternative when viewing a recipe website, it could now be kept and used on different web pages.

To use this function, you can save AI as ” Skills ” directly from the chat record. Then you can reuse it by typing a slash or by clicking on the plus button in the Gemini of Chhome. “Skills” will run on the page that is being viewed and on any selected additional tab. Google notes that these “Skills” can also be edited at any time. In the tests, Google found that early users used “Skills” in health and health. For example, protein macros in recipes are calculated or used for shopping comparisons, scanning and summing up lengthy documents. To help users start using “skills”, Google has also launched a “skills bank” to provide common tasks and workflows in productivity, shopping, recipes, budget etc.

To use the pre-programmed “skills”, the user simply needs to add it to the “Skills” saved in Chhome. User needs can also be met by editing tips from the definition of “Skills”. Like other Gemini operations in Chhome, “Skills” requires user confirmation before performing certain operations (e.g. sending e-mails or adding events to the calendar). “Skills” is now being rolled out to the Chrome desktop user who has entered the Google account.
