In its second-quarter financial paper, the R home company, Take-Two, announced that the second extension to 19 November 2026, announced by the title of the century’s great “GTA 6” , could not be reminiscent of the CDPR founder, Marcin Iwinski, who said, “No one will remember the garbage game that was launched on time.”

According to IGN, Take-Two claims that the extension was “to give the development team additional time to complete the game with the desired and worthy quality of the player. We fully support the R Star and are convinced that they can bring unparalleled top-level entertainment.” GTA 6 was originally scheduled for sale in the autumn of 2025, when players were generally of the opinion that the game would have to be postponed, yet even when rumours began, Chief Executive Officer Take-Two Strauss Zelnik maintained that he was confident. Since then, the game has been unexpectedly postponed until next May, when R.S. similarly stressed the need for “extra time to ensure that the required standards are met”.

In an earlier interview, Strauss Zelnik stated: “We have come closer to the distribution node after all the year, fortunately the new distribution date is still in the same fiscal year, and more grateful to the R.S.S. for his persistence in the quest for perfection.” In fact, most players and practitioners are also not optimistic about the original date of sale on 26 May 2026 for R, and given the historical extension of the studio’s “precedent”, the ticket was not surprising. Despite the willingness of most players to wait patiently, some of them remain elusive. Strauss Zelnik stressed at the investor conference that the frequency of the GTA Online update would not be affected by this.

It is noteworthy that during the past week, Take-Two dismissed dozens of employees on the grounds of “serious misconduct” and “disclosure of confidential information in open forums”, but the actual reason for the allegations by the employees concerned was to engage in online discussions about the formation of a trade union. The group is currently protesting in front of the British offices of Rockstar North and Take-Two. Thanks to the excellent performance of NBA 2K26, Brothers of the Four Seas: Homes and Homeless Land 4, Take-Two has a firm history record of a net booking of $1.96 billion in the second quarter of the fiscal year. Of these, 5 million have been sold so far for NBA 2K26 and the cumulative volume of GTA 5 has exceeded 220 million.

Faced with a further extension, Strauss Zelnik promised in his reply to IGN: “I am highly convinced of the new date of sale. Although there are occasional cases where more time is needed to grind the work — these inputs eventually prove valuable and often bear the brunt of the rush of competitors to produce imperfect products. But I repeat, I have full confidence in the new distribution date.”
